Japan Trip (3-14 March 2017) Part 2 Kyoto

Day 6, Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Kiyomizudera Temple.

To move around Kyoto to tourist spots was a bit complicated and time consuming as compared to Tokyo or Osaka. Kinkakuji Temple and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest were quite far from the place that we stayed. Thus, we took a train then a bus ride to each of these destinations.

First, take a train ride from Fushini Inari St (via Keihan Line) to Gion Shijo St. Then hop on the bus to get to Kinkakuji Temple

Pretty statue spotted while waiting for bus at Gion Shijo St.

Very unique entrance ticket for Kinkakuji Temple...

The famous and MUST visit Kinkakuji Temple

Looks tempting despite on a cold weather but a bit disappointed.. Perhaps I shouldn't expect that the wafer should be the crispy type..

Sushi for lunch after visiting Kinkakuji Temple.. Just about 15 minutes of walking down the road..

Just less than 20% of what we ordered.. Must order their chawan mushi and unagi bento...

Took a bus then transfer to another bus to get to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.. If you can afford, you can hire a driver or a taxi but it will cost you a boom!

Arrived at Arashiyama District after an hour bus journey.. =)

The eerie part of the bamboo forest..

Walking path of the bamboo forest...

Togetsukyo Bridge and Katsura River

%Arabica by the river.. It's also a MUST especially during cold weather... =)

After spending half a day travelling to Kinkakuji Temple and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, we then headed back (using train then bus) to Higashiyama District to visit Kiyomizudera Temple as they were having special night view throughout the whole month.

Kimono Forest at Arashiyama St.

On the way up to Kiyomizudera Temple..

Kiyomizudera Temple...

Dinner at Okonomiyaki Kiraku Kiyomizu Gojonzakaten.. Down the hill from Kiyomizudera Temple (roughly about 20 minutes walk)

Okonomiyaki.. Worth to try!

Yakisoba.. And this is good too.. At least it was not salty like the other noodles! =)

To be continued...
